Membership
Application for Membership within the New Zealand Embalmers Association
is divided into four categories
1.) Practising Member
A person shall be eligible for practising membership upon successful completion of an
examination or examinations as the Association may determine or have
such qualifications or practical experience as the Association may deem
to be sufficient without examination. This person must hold a
current practising certificate.
Practising certificates are designed to ensure that the standards of embalming set
by the NZEA are maintained. The certificates are issued
bi-annually during which time the member must complete a minimum of
Ten (10) Training Hour
Credits. A
Statutory Declaration Form
is required to be completed annually.
2.) Non-Practising Member
Those who do not hold a current practising certificate or who are not currently working
within the industry.
3.) Student Membership
Student membership
is available to any individual who is enrolled on an approved training
program.
4.) Overseas Member
A member who
normally resides outside of New Zealand and cannot satisfactorily attend
approved training. Overseas members who wish to retain their
practising certificate must meet the same requirements as a practising
member. Overseas training programs need to be approved by
the Funeral Service Training Trust.
Application for membership of the Association shall be on the the approved
Application Form as embodied under Appendix B of the
NZEA Rules.
Two other categories of membership exist within the Association
5.) Life Member
Any full member of
the Association who has rendered long and distinguished service to the
Association may be elected a Life Member of the Association at an Annual
General Meeting.
6.) Honorary Member
Any person shall be
eligible for honorary membership who has given valuable service and
support to the Association, but who would not normally be eligible to
become a full member.
